The Godiva Lounge at the Golden Globes InStyle Afterparty
Immortalized in countless paintings and sculptures, Lady Godiva is said to have ridden unclothed on horseback through her town to protest her husbands's cruel taxes on the people. When Warner Brothers/InStyle magazine invited us to create a space at the Beverly Hilton for the Golden Globes afterparty, we decided to return to the legend by creating a one-night-only gallery of masterworks created entirely from Godiva chocolates.
A star-studded guest list was invited into an gallery of paintings made of pure Godiva chocolate.
Leonardo Da Vinci's Lady with an Ermine (1489 - 1490), rendered in Godiva Belgian Milk, Dark, and White Chocolate.
Rembrandt's Self Portrait (1629), rendered with bold brush strokes in Godiva Belgian Milk, Dark, and White Chocolate.
Interpretations of Matisse's Icarus (1947) and Klimt's The Kiss (1907-08) shared the corner walls.
Our version of Icarus made special use of Godiva Dessert Truffles, and Foils from the Godiva Gold Ballotin Collection and Godiva Gems Collection.
Our interpretation of The Kiss was embellished with Godiva Signature Gold Paper, with foil wrappers and pieces from the Dessert Truffle Collection.
An all-chocolate homage to John Collier's Lady Godiva (1897).
Visitors were greeted at the entrance by an elaborate spread of Godiva favorites for sampling.
Even the bar was also tiled with chocolate mosaic, and crowned with a elaborate chocolate interpretation of Van Gogh's Sunflowers.
At the bar, patrons were offered a unique menu of specialty cocktails featuring Godiva Chocolate Liqueur.
